A 19th century Impressionist, Eugene Boudin
painted in oil on both canvas and wood. Among his many admirers
was a young Claude Monet, to whom Boudin acted as something of
a mentor. Boudin's own legacy includes a series of illustrations
of the Normandy coastline in France; in particular, the private
beaches of the wealthy near Trouville.
