Ferdinand Hodler is considered one of the
greatest Swiss artists. Among his early influences were Camille
Corot and Gustave Courbet, although Hodler's later art showcased
a newfound Symbolist technique. Today, Hodler's paintings are
on display at the Kunstmuseum and Musee d'Art et d'Histoire in
Switzerland, among other locations throughout Europe.
