An American artist of the "Post-Painterly
Abstractionist" school, Kenneth Noland is best known for
the remarkable symmetry of his works. His pieces are exemplified
by precisely centered shapes on bare, open canvas. Repeating
motifs over a series of paintings, Noland was fond of using the
target and lozenge in his pieces.
